The Social Media Tips that Will Improve Your Marketing Success

Marketing your business on social media is just common sense. There are currently no less than 2.46 billion active social media users on the planet – that’s a lot of opportunities to make money if you know what you’re doing!

Unfortunately, a great many entrepreneurs don’t have their social media marketing technique down. If you’ve been using social media to market your goods and services with lackluster results, check out these tips that will improve your social media marketing success:

Spend More Time on It

Perhaps, the most effective thing you can do to improve your social media marketing success is to spend more time creating and perfecting it. Even something as simple as a typo can make your business seem less professional and therefore less appealing, so, it’s worth taking some extra time to get it right.

If you think you don’t have the extra time to dedicate to it, remember that it is a successful marketing campaign which will bring the money in and make simple changes like employing this technology solution or hiring an assistant, to make more time. It will all be worth it in the end when your content is bringing in the money.

Hire a Social Media Manager

Of course, you could, if you have the budget to do so, even hire a social media manager whose sole job is to look after your company’s social media accounts, creating content, replying to comments and ensuring that your audience are as engaged as possible.

Use Video

If you aren’t already doing so, using video to market your company on social media is a really good idea. More and more people are choosing to watch short videos rather than read text posts so that you can capture more of your target audience that way, and of course, the visual medium can really showcase your products and services in a way that the written word alone often can’t.

Refresh Old Content

Something simple which can be very effective is refreshing old content, perhaps from your blog, and posting it on your social media accounts. Often, perfectly good content stops being useful simply because it is old or it features stats that are outdated, and going back and making a few simple changes can make it relevant and effective for your company again.

Genuinely Connect

Your social media accounts might be business accounts, but if you want them to be really effective, you probably shouldn’t treat them as such. What I mean by that is that you should not make your posts overly ‘salesy’ cold or clinical. You should inject some humour, warmth, and personality into them and you should actually take the time to reply to comments and build genuine connections with your friends and followers. People who feel a genuine connection with a business are much more likely to use it and remain loyal to the brand, so it really is in your interest to do this.

Don’t Be Afraid of Feedback

If you want to do well on social media, you shouldn’t be scared of feedback, in fact, you should ask for it. If you can engage your followers in sending you feedback, not only can you work out where you might do better in the marketing department, but (hopefully) your social media profiles will all be very active, generate conversation and show you in a pretty positive light.

Always Add Images

Did you know that posts which contain an image get a massive 94 percent more views than those that don’t? A simple way to increase interest in your posts on social media is, therefore, to ensure that you always post an image with your content. If you can also make that image as unique, flawless and visually interesting as possible, ideally using editing tools like Photoshop, then you should see even better results.

Run Contests

Contests and giveaways are great for bringing more followers into the fold, as I’m sure you’ll know, but they can also be an excellent marketing tool, especially if you get creative and say, ask your followers to take pictures of themselves using your products in unusual places or in unique ways, or you ask them to get out and do something to draw attention to your brand in a bid to win something desirable.

Try Audio Content

Audio content and podcasts, in particular, have blown up in the past couple of years, so it is definitely worth experimenting with audio content on your social media profiles and blogs. If you have a strong voice and a strong message, it’s sure to boost your success.

Marketing successfully on social media really isn’t rocket science, it’s just a matter of taking the time to try new things and get them right. If you can do that, then you should be able to sell anything on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
